Research Methodology

GBI LensLab uses a document-based research process for camera and digital-imaging articles unless an article clearly states that genuine hands-on testing took place.

Primary Sources

Whenever possible, technical specifications are checked against manufacturer product pages, support documentation, official manuals and recognized standards documentation.

Specification Checks

Important details such as sensor resolution, recording formats, frame rates, autofocus features, lens compatibility, storage requirements and stabilization specifications should be compared with current manufacturer information.

Document Research vs. Physical Testing

Reading manufacturer documentation, technical references or public specifications is not the same as physically testing a camera. GBI LensLab does not label document-based research as hands-on testing.

Products and Firmware

Features and performance-related specifications may vary by firmware version, model variant or region. Readers should verify purchase-critical information with the manufacturer before buying equipment.

Corrections

If a specification or factual statement is found to be incorrect or outdated, it may be corrected after review. Readers can report potential errors through the Contact Us page.
